The communicative artistic symbiosis of Diana León and Paco Ziel in Vías transcends the uniqueness of their respective practices. In consonance with the artistic heritage of Quebec, their choreographic creations are characterized by sharing and collaboration. Inviting the public to participate, they give life to festive moments, celebrating their culture with infectious energy in a spirit of inclusiveness.
The distinctive strength of the company Vías lies in the ingenious interweaving of the present-day and the ancestral in works such as those presented in Montreal this past season: Flesh and Sound, created in residency at l’Agora de la danse, premiered at Montréal, arts interculturels, and part of the official selection of Parcours Danse, and Sabor de mi corazón: Cumbia, presented by and at La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines in collaboration with Orange Noyée.

Born in Mexico City, Paco Ziel studied at the École supérieure de ballet du Québec. He danced with RUBBERBAND for 10 years and has worked with other Montreal artists and companies, including PPS Danse, Anne Plamondon, Martin Messier and Barbara Kanerantonni Diabo. Paco has been a guest teacher at Springboard Danse Montréal, Transformation, Domaine Forget, l’École supérieure de ballet du Québec, l’École de danse de Québec, and l’École de danse contemporaine de Montréal. He is co-director with Diana León of the company Vías, and has participated in the production of Sur ce chemin, tu es sûre de te perdre, Sabor de mi corazón, and Flesh and Sound. He is a self-taught filmmaker, photographer and electroacoustic composer.
Performing artist, choreographer and teacher Diana León was born in Mexico City. She studied at the Estudio de Ballet Tecamachalco, the National Ballet School in Cuba and the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Diana danced with the Mexican National Dance Company before joining Les Grands Ballets Canadiens for five years. She was a member of the multidisciplinary laboratory Quantum Collective and has worked with choreographers such as Martin Messier, Anne Plamondon, Andrew Skeels, Sylvain Émard, Louise Bédard, Morgane Letiec and Caroline Laurin-Beaucage. Diana is co-director with Paco Ziel of the company Vías, and has participated in the production of Sur ce chemin, tu es sûre de te perdre, Sabor de mi corazón, and Flesh and Sound.
